Jazz Bassist Jonah Jonathan interviews Jazz Pianist and Keyboardist Campbell Charshee.
Campbell Charshee is a keyboardist, grounded in the jazz tradition, but versed in many other musical styles.
A graduate of the William Paterson University jazz studies program, he studied with such notable pianists as Mulgrew Miller, Harold Mabern, James Weidman and Armen Donelian.
Active on the NYC music scene, he has appeared with a wide variety of performers including: the Drifters, Winard and Philip Harper, Brittany Campbell, Origem, Gerry Gibbs, Godwin Louis, Tatev and many others.
He has also performed extensively with many original ensembles including: Less Magnetic, Hello Society, the Hidden Jazz Collective, and the Mad Mad Minds Collective.
His most recent group is Campblicated: a trio including drummer Jarrett Walser and bassist the Atonal Assassin.
Campbell is also an active music teacher, producer and film scorer in the New York area.
