Jazz bassist Jonah Jonathan interviews Jazz Bassist Joris Teepe for his series The Jazz Musician’s Voice.

Joris Teepe is one of the most in demand bassists in Jazz and has worked with some of the top names including Benny Golson and Rashied Ali. He’s unique in that he’s one of the few left handed upright bass players. He’s a dual citizen of The Netherlands and The United States and is well known on both scenes. Joris is the head of the Jazz Program in Groinigen Holland which he founded and is a sought after educator. We conducted this interview at the Gunnery School In Washington Connecticut where Joris was on the bass faculty for the Litchfield Jazz Camp.
